RUTGERS GARDENS by Cynthia Catera

Although living in the city has its endless perks, I'm still a country girl at heart and love to reconnect with nature. Luckily, the surrounding areas of New York can cater to this quick fix, even if it's only for a day. So on a blazing Memorial Day (at least it seemed this way from the non-spring weather we've had), I ventured to Rutgers Gardens in New Brunswick, New Jersey. This beautiful space is free of charge and offers multitudes of relaxation from the gardens, to grassy knolls to trails within the forest. I could spend a whole weekend here at this urban escape;)

BRAIN RIEGEL by Cynthia Catera

A few week backs, on a trip to Columbus Ohio, I came across the work of Brian Riegel being showcased at the airport. His multi-media sculptures mash-up the likes of instruments, gears, videography, recreating beautiful and conversational pieces. The fine detailing in his etching is also quite spectacular, allowing for you to get lost in his sculptures.

NYC EASTER EGG HUNT by Cynthia Catera

Although I did not get the opportunity to participate in the great hunt, I did find my way to Rock Center to view all the marvelous eggs. Weeks before Easter, NYC hosted this hunt teaming up with social media in a hunt around the city. Decorated by the select few, these eggs were then auctioned off with the proceeds to charity.
