CIZE it up!!!! by Cynthia Catera

So for almost a year now, I've been taking Insanity classes at my gym which combines cardio with body weight resistance. NOW, there's a new version out called CIZE, combining those same elements with hip-hop dance moves. This past Friday, in lieu of Halloween, we did an 80's version spiriting Jane Fonda and Richard Simmons at the Athleta store on the UWS. Here's me with my instructor, Sarah Elizondo, who's such an incredible and inspirational force of nature!

My first race.....ever. 5K, Urban obstacles, completely terrified going into it, so accomplished crossing that finish line with a cartwheel! If you never ran a race, do it!!! The encouragement, teamwork, and persistence, leading up, and the actual going through the race is something irreplaceable and a measure you can carry-through in any day-to-day and on-the-job task :) I was lucky enough to run with this incredible crew, and I can't wait for the next one!

As much as I love picking out my daily wears to work, I just as much love my workout outfits, allowing for my inner 80's child to come out with pops of neons, and a side of jazz hands. About a year and a 1/2 ago, I replaced my happy hour with the gym, re-shifting my focus and mental outlook on life. With quitting smoking and juggling personal struggles, the gym was the best and healthiest way to relieve the access anxiety, and I have to say, was one of the best decisions in my life. Being 31, I have to say I am in the best shape of my life and it's great seeing results from all the hardwork:)
